Corrections
This page is a public log of every correction we have made to CryptoCompass content. Anywhere we cite specific numbers, timestamps or official sources, we run a quarterly spot-check, plus we re-verify on demand when a reader emails us about a possible error. Each entry below shows the old text, the new text, the date and the reason — so you can see exactly what we changed and why.
▮ How corrections work
- Quarterly spot-check: In the first month of every quarter we audit a sample of the previous quarter's articles, focusing on paragraphs that cite numbers, dates or official policies.
- Reader-triggered review: Send corrections to
privacy@6188.live. We acknowledge and complete review within seven working days. - Official policy monitoring: When Binance, OKX, Bybit or any referenced exchange publishes a fee or policy change, we re-check related articles.
- Correction notice: A visible correction notice is added to the top of the affected article. Material fact corrections affecting reader judgement are highlighted on this page for at least 30 days.
- Permanent log: Past corrections are never removed from this page.
▮ Correction log
Affected article: Exchange Convert / Quick Convert comparison module plus the "common beginner traps" section.
Old text: Binance Convert is a beginner-friendly quick swap, no fee.
New text: Binance Convert displays no "fee" line in the UI, but the real cost is folded into the quoted rate as a spread — when we compared the BTC→USDT Convert quote against the Spot order-book match at the same moment, Convert was roughly 0.05%–0.20% more expensive than Spot. Acceptable for small one-off swaps; do not treat it as "zero fee" for frequent or large amounts.
Reason: The original wording ("no fee") was technically correct as Binance presents it, but seriously misleading. While doing our 9-exchange Convert comparison we found the spread cost hidden in the quoted rate by cross-checking against Spot. A reader also emailed that 100 USDT Convert returned less BTC than a same-moment Spot order. The new wording exposes the spread mechanism, gives our measured range, and explicitly cautions high-frequency users.
